Here is a hair update on my FABULOUS weave! I decided to curl the hair for my friend's wedding, which FYI was absolutely beautiful! I used a curling wand and a heat protector to create luscious curls. I will do a how-to video very soon to show you the whole process. In the meantime, here is a little something showing you my final look along with a few pictures :)
I'm very excited about the hair, if you want to know more about where I purchased it and who installed it, please send me an email or leave a comment below!
I recently discovered an alternative way to purchase hair and I'm so excited to share it with you. In Canada, buying a decent weave can run you broke! My Canadian ladies can attest to that. If you want your hair to look good for a month or two, you will easily fork out $100-$200 in hair alone! Keep in mind that after the first wear, the hair doesn't look that great, so no reusing possible! And we have to admit that is a drag!
I was looking up Virgin Brazilian Hair online, when I stumbled upon a hair video review! This lady TrishJordiscussed hair that she purchased from a vendor. That got me curious. Could I find a vendor myself that sold quality hair for cheap? I first researched on eBay and wasn't able to find anything that felt right.
Then, one afternoon, I stumbled (I stumble a lot, as you can see) upon this website: http://luvinhair.en.alibaba.com/, and found the wonderful Amy Chan. From the first hello, she was very helpful and did not pressure me into purchasing from her. She was very straightforward about the prices and easy to talk to. Heaven knows I bombarded her with questions, and she patiently and promptly answered them all.
Since I was making a hair investment (as the hair is supposed to last over a year, if taken care of), I decided to purchase the Virgin Brazilian Body Wave in 18', 20' and 22'. Long hair don't care!!
Now, what is the difference between a vendor and buying it from a distributor?
When you purchase from a vendor, you cut many of the costs. First the distribution costs, as well as the packaging costs. Also most vendor have their own factories, so you know where the hair is from.
The hair I purchased is also unprocessed, meaning that it has no chemicals (dye or perm) and has usually never been ironed or curled.
Hair can be virgin but not unprocessed, which means no chemicals came in contact with the hair, but it could have been flat ironed or curled to have a certain pattern.
Below is a video of the hair when I received it. I sent the money to Amy on Wednesday January 30th, 2013 at about 8pm (Eastern Standard Time) and received it on Friday February 1, 2013 at about 5pm. Talk about service! And during those two days, Amy provided me with the tracking number and was open to all my correspondence.
Previously to installing the hair, I washed it with conditioner and let it air dry. Once dried, I moisturized it with some Coconut oil to give this wet look. Below is another video!
Thank you to Diana for the amazing hair styling! Give her a shout if you are in the Montreal area. Her number, once again: 514-686-4621
